From Software Customisation to Documentation Customisation: Video Guides for Unique Solutions

Developing custom solutions at the intersection of microelectronics, embedded platforms and AI, our company has long realised one sad truth: standard documentation is not enough any more. If we deliver a tailored product, then user assistance must be equally precise and customised. Clients have repeatedly asked video guides for the most non-trivial features, and we did that in several cases. Previously, this was not cost-effective: a unique product equalled a unique and expensive-to-maintain video. However, the world has changed: tools have become more accessible, and the short video format has evolved from entertainment into a familiar way for users to consume information. 

This talk is the story of reviving a once “shelved” idea. We will explain how, using modern technologies, we integrate targeted video instructions into technical documentation to flexibly and effectively address the most pressing requests of different clients.
