Through Thorns to the Stars: How We Migrated All Yandex Documentation to Diplodoc

  • 40 min

For a long time, all Yandex documentation was written in the DITA format this format was suitable for the main tasks of documentation: reuse of content, the possibility of flexible and convenient localisation, a large number of diverse layouts and the use of a single source. In addition, there were editing tools for DITA that allowed authors to write texts without diving deep into markup details.

But something went wrong, and we started looking for other options where we could publish and conveniently maintain the documentation.

In a joint talk, teams from Yandex Crowd and Diplodoc will explain why they chose the YFM format and the Diplodoc platform, how the migration process went, and what lessons they learned along the way.
