Just say, “I write documentation according to GOST,” and you'll immediately be met with sympathetic glances. It feels like you're working with something outdated, writing in Word while everyone has long moved to Docs-as-Code. There is a common belief that transitioning from a GOST writer to automation is practically impossible. I'll shatter this stereotype. I spent 11 years of my career writing according to GOST, and after turning 40, I successfully transitioned to writing documentation in Docs-as-Code.
In my talk, I'll explore the core competencies of a GOST writer and show you how to use these skills to your advantage. Drawing on my own experience, I'll share how to transition to writing documentation according to internal style guides, as well as learn how to use markup languages.
