A technical writer can work on various types of documentation, each with its own unique characteristics and users. This diversity requires distinct approaches to handling each type of documentation.

To create these tailored approaches, I decided to focus on understanding the users of each documentation type and develop empathy maps for them.

In this talk, I will explain how technical writers can apply empathy maps to better understand their audiences, and how, based on these insights, they can develop more effective strategies for working with different kinds of documentation.
