How to Establish Processes in a Company as the First Technical Writing Team

I used to manage an editorial team of 15 people at one of the country’s largest banks, and now I am applying my experience as both a manager and editor to the first technical writing team.
There are still three of us within the vast platform inside the bank. Our department develops products that help employees in their work and client service: a knowledge base, a role model, an internal portal, a scheduling service, etc. Each team needs to be approached and prioritised — for which of them technical documentation is more important and needed.
I’d like to share my experience and explain how we work.
This talk will be useful for those working in teams of any size, aiming to improve processes or build new ones, wondering whether Kanban is needed for a two-person team, and pondering other deep philosophical questions.
We'll discuss:
- How to introduce yourself within the company to get tasks.
- How to measure team effectiveness and what metrics to collect.
- How to work with problem clients.
