Mythbusters: How Technical Writers Actually Become Managers

Hello. My name is Denis, I have been involved in technical documentation for over 20 years, and now I am the head of the technical documentation department at YADRO.

Just 10 years ago, I was firmly convinced that there were literally no opportunities for growth and change. And now, after some extensive internal processing and being the hiring manager, I begin to see familiar problems among candidates at every interview. It turned out that these restrictions are artificial; any environment offers opportunities for growth, you just need to notice and be able to take advantage of them. I want to talk about ways to overcome these artificial restrictions.
