Technical writers vs user stories

  • 40 min

An analyst and a technical writer, although they are related roles, operate on entirely different artefacts. Often, the result of analysts' work, in particular user stories, is not fully used for documentation. The technical writer spends efforts on additional collection of information, discussing nuances with an analyst / development team / QA, and creating text for documentation from scratch.

How a technical writer can get the most out of user stories and simplify his work. What compromises can be negotiated with an analyst, and what one will have to put up with (or not?) when using this approach, we will discuss in the talk.
