Workshop: Kotlin — the best language for DocOps

  • 1h 30 min

Automation in documentation processes allows you to speed up development and improve the quality of documentation. At the same time, the automation process itself is quite patchwork. This is natural: at different stages of documentation preparation, different tools are usually used, since there is no single solution out of the box.

The problem of patchwork documentation can be reduced. Kotlin allows you to universally solve many problems and has a high degree of solution support.

At the master class we will go through typical approaches to solving problems of document automation using the Kotlin language. Typical DocOps tasks will be taken as working examples:
  • application of single source technology where the capabilities of our documentation tool are lacking
  • checking the quality of the document: spelling and grammar, rules for using semantic elements of the markup used, correctness of links, etc.
  • generating text from external data sources
  • receiving and post-processing output formats
